Do you think I should email someone else?

I applied for a job at a research lab, and also reached out to a senior scientist on LinkedIn for it. I am very qualified for the position, btw. The guy on LinkedIn replied and said to email him. I emailed him on Friday, heard nothing back from him by Monday afternoon, and so sent a follow up message on LinkedIn to confirm that he got my email. He then replied to my email on Tuesday morning asking when I'd have time to talk. I replied to him 30 minutes later, giving him my availability, and since then I haven't heard anything at all from him. Should I be patient and wait for him or try reaching out to someone else?

You already applied to the job. Unless you know these folks, it's probably not going to make a difference if you contact them.

Be patient. You seem to be in a hurry but that is not how hiring works. The lead scientist is busy and you are not the primary focus. He also may have to arrange many things to set up the interview.
Give it a week which is more reasonable before reaching back out. You have certainly already shown your desire to obtain the role.
If you keep contacting him you risk seeming desperate and pushy.

@REMsleep thanks. I guess I just need to be patient, even though it's hard to at this point because I definitely feel desperate lol. Next Tuesday it is!
