On Internet Battles - Because they are important.

I was was arguing with a donkey today.
And No matter what I said, the donkey would respond with a long and loud HEEEE HAWWW

After a long while of this and having gotten nowhere I wondered who was the donkey in this situation. Was it the one braying, or was it me, for arguing with the donkey.

Why are internet battles so important and we get so invested in them. Given, some people can say some really dumb s*** . I get that.
But, if we know it's not going to get nobody nowhere , why do we get so invested in them sometimes.

How do you end feuds..
I just don't get into them. . Or I try not to.
