I don’t where the meaning came from (for female person and anatomy). Cats scratch and bite ! - ok yeah women scratch and bite as well when fighting but they don’t fight very often in my experience, its just not their way. They avoid conflict by running very long determined wars of words and ideas and never give up so the first meaning doesn't apply to them either. Thats why I’ve found the best policy is to minimise the number of them I have in my life. I would just become the battlefield for conflicting views.
