The internet is both a gift and a curse, and it has definitely become significantly worse as time goes on. There is so much information on it that it

can overwhelm you into passivity or egoism. It brings to mind part of a quote from Neil Postman in his book "Amusing ourselves to death": "Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance."

This is so true. I believe that there is way too much information on the internet and not only that, but way too much false information. There are multiple alternative versions of practically every single subject and so many people just don't know what is true anymore, even about the most basic subjects that you would think are common knowledge. It is leading to more subjectivity, more solipsism, more relativism and ultimately more confusion, which leads to more insanity. It is as if they are manufacturing a collective form of schizophrenia or psychosis. Because of the influx of all these thousands of alternative versions of every topic, people are becoming less capable of distinguishing between reality and fantasy and everyone is creating their own reality tunnel.

So I believe that Postman was correct in asserting that the focus of the elites modus operandi is not depriving us of information (granted, they do ban and censor certain books and videos, however, albeit sometimes harder to find, it's still out there on some platforms to be found), but giving us so much and drowning the truth in a sea of irrelevance.

If there's one thing I am certain of, when you look at everything and all of the mass information that we're constantly streaming into our minds nowadays, is that Jesus Christ is Lord, He died, was buried and rose again the third day and that we have a Bible - the written word of God that we can trust - the King James Bible in the English language, which is our final authority.

People who don't believe this and reject God's word do not have a final authority and so ultimately all they have is their own subjective opinions and feelings, the ever changing opinions of popular culture, moral relativism, solipsism and so they are much more likely to fall for anything and be swayed and deceived by the plethora of information about every subject, coming in from countless people all of the time.

But when you have the King James Bible as your final authority in all matters of faith and practice, you have objective truth where you can judge all information and all matters by the light of scripture. This process weeds out so much false information and relieves your mind. Yes, standing for something or being narrow minded brings joy and gives you peace. It gives you clarity and makes you stable and saves so much precious time on earth, time that people waste on entertaining and researching false ideas because they have no standard whereby they can judge those ideas by.

There is objective reality, folks. There is an objective standard - the Bible, which has been given to us by the God of the Bible/ - the Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 9:10 says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."

True wisdom and knowledge starts at fearing the Lord. Before this, no one has any true wisdom or knowledge.

People, I plead with you to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior today. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today while you still have the chance. Now is the day of salvation.

Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ and believing His death burial and resurrection as a payment for your sin is the narrow way that leads to life. Very few are on it. Many are on the broad way that leads to destruction because they are trusting in themselves and their own works and a plethora of other things; they are trusting in anything but Jesus.

"...repent ye, and believe the gospel." (Mark 1:15).

Enter the narrow way today

Matthew 7:13-14 - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

DO YOU KNOW?
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

WHO IS GOOD?
As it is written, There is none righteous, not not one. (Romans 3:10)

WHO HAS SINNED?
For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

WHERE SIN CAME FROM
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin: and so death passed upon ALL men, for that ALL have sinned. (Romans 5:12)

GOD’S PRICE ON SIN
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

GOD’S WAY OUT!
But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

Neil postman sounds like a clever writer, i like his term of phrase 'amusing ourselves to death' pity he only lived until 2003 i would have like to read what he'd have to say about the 4th industrial revolution and ai.

Amusing ourselves to death, conjures up the idea of living and dying only on screens, the band VAST made a song in 2000 called " the last one alive" it touches on this topic too.

The idea that the world is so plugged into the virtual reality of the internet that it forgets to look up its sources or go outside and see/feel is a delicious one for mischief like faking your own death or having the support and adoration of millions of sock puppet fans on social media.

I think technolgy has changed the values of society from the collective society perspective, for instance facebook changed the definition of friendship but remember i said "as a collective society" meaning when we are all in one place( using the internet site) doing the same thing we appear to agree. The mistake we make is that we take face value for truth..

All we need to do is go back to our human values, for instance friendship: i define us as friends if we have been to each other's houses or had supper together, facebook doesnt allign with my values of friendship, so i dont use it.

This post also made me ponder the question " has the internet mapped out everything on earth yet?" Every person, place, thing, thought, idea etc has it been done before?

I think thats why the christian bible is mentioned in the post, its supposed to be such a guide, where every human emotion and act under the sun has happened and its consequences and remedies spoken about as a warning or guide to living in the now until the end comes.
Cory Doctorow talked about the decline of the internet in "The Enshittification of Everything." Nothing new here.

The Bible is not an objective standard as it has to be interpreted. Anyone who thinks "but it's obvious" is simply interpreting it in the way the group they align themselves with requires. There is no such thing as Biblical literalism. There is, of course, Biblical scholarship, which attempts to understand what the original writers intended to convey and how they were understood by their readers at different times.

Your profound misunderstanding of the Bible starts with your implicit assumption that what we know as "the Bible" existed in its present form since it was written. But at the time it was written, "The Bible" didn't exist, and the people writing it didn't view themselves as contributors to an ongoing project. The decisions as to what to include or exclude was made much later. Examples of this would be the decisions to include Revelation and exclude the Gospel of Thomas.

Until you understand this, you're not reading the Bible for understanding. Instead, you're reading it backwards by imposing your own preexisting dogma onto it to support your own worldview.
