DragonFruit I agree. My mom’s diabetic and having diabetic neuropathy. She covers all the expenses for her house because her husband doesn’t make a lot of money. She’s started dipping into her savings and I’m afraid she’ll have nothing by the time she retires.
They don’t need a big 3br house and in all honesty I’d prefer she retire early instead of working herself sick. She has severe back pain from multiple spinal fusions.
Her husband has zero handy man skills so my husband does most of all the repairs she has had to pay for some because my husband doesn’t do roofing or crawl space sealing.
Last year her husband forcibly moved his daughter in and his grandkids ruined all their brand new furniture.
At some point he’s going to move them back in permanently.
But I guess it is her choice. She just doesn’t seem happy. And I know some of these communities have pools, saunas etc and she loves that kind of stuff
