Biggest Meltdown In History

This is the most common headline today. Makes me chuckle.

What history? Is it the history of "centrally managed, distributed endpoint protection, via third party, autonomous, central repositories"?

That history?

That goes way, way, way back, to 10-15 years.

They make it sound as if this extends all the way to the Aztec Empire.

Amazing though how much of infrastructure was switched to that, over the past 10 years, without having a fail-safe mechanism.

There will be a reckoning. I don't mean getting rid of the technology, but ensuring that there's oversight coupled with software updates, from third parties, or even government agencies.

It's a sickening thought that we're so dependent on technology we the user, not only don't understand.
But have absolutely no control over and are dependent entirely on faceless folks at companies we've never heard of, to solve problems we didn't create.

And some question why some of us are constantly questioning why we have no power of choice in any form of modern technology that we're constantly being told is essential or you're denied access to everything they want you to do online
