is the current updated version of VLC player as good as the old outdated version

it's just when i have to upgrade my computer to windows 10, i will have the newest version of VLC player....as i presently use the old outdated version on my windows 7 desktop computer, and it's really good.

but is the newest version of VLC as good as the older version, does it have all the same features like in this snapshot down below?
