I don't debate online π«Άπ»
I've been told over and over again, here on SW, not to post if I don't want to debate.
I've had to block a lot of people since the beginning of the war, since every post I make in relation to it, is seen by many as an automatic invitation to debate.
I am not interested.
I wonder why it is so difficult for some people to see something which they would like to debate, yet respect that the other person isn't interested in doing that activity with them.
I do not owe anyone here to debate the things I write about.
The war obviously takes up a lot of space in the minds of people in Ukraine, and it's only natural that I will write about it sometimes.
β’ I have experienced people simply commenting nonsense on my posts, purely out of spite over me not wanting to engage in debates.
β’ I have experienced someone (American) who felt baffled by the fact that I wouldn't try to understand the war from Russia's point of view.
β’ I have even experienced someone who wrote "don't start a debate if you can't take it" because I wrote that I like Cola Light lol.
Guys not everything online is a debate, and if you can't fathom any other reason for posting then you must quite frankly be leading a miserable existence.
I have interesting and intelligent friends whom I debate with, so I don't see a point in "debating" on the internet.
I do understand that the topic of the war is political, but it is not an invitation. The war in Ukraine is obviously a personal and much more sensitive topic to those who live here, than it is to others, so I don't understand how people even come to the conclusion that I would like to debate it with them.
It does not bother me that you comment, I will just delete the comment. I do however find it very immature and actually bizarre that grown men will attempt to annoy other people out of frustration that said people are not interested in having a conversation with them.
