What was once considered the lunatic fringe is now nearly mainstream

I blame the internet. Any kind of content all goes straight to the public with no review. Racism, bigotry, political extremism, misinformation, false statements, incitement to violence, nonsensical conspiracy theories abound on the interwebs. Websites can promote any kind of content without editors or fact checkers. That should be changed

I believe the internet needs a review board to pre-check site content to prohibit deliberate false information, calls for violence, and overthrow of governments. Also, fact-checkers to preview sites to prevent misinformation from being spread.
