Today was rougher than I thought.

I went to work like I almost always do.
Same shit different day.
Did my job, worked hard, and kept the project moving in a forward fashion.
I felt alright on the way home except for my left elbow that was sore from taking a good, direct strike from a piece of #5 bar.

But I've been home for a few hours now and I'm starting to feel all torn up.

The List of Things Currently Hurting as I Sit Here:

My left elbow
My left knee
My left ankle
My left shoulder
The back of my left forearm
My left pinky toe
My right foot
My right hip
My entire lower back
The right side of my neck
and I have a small headache to cap it all off.

Getting old isn't as easy as I thought it would be when I was younger...

I am sorry for your aches and pains, Rob. I think getting older is like having children- you don't understand what it involves until you experience it. I certainly understand now why people my age always talked about how happy they would be to retire. A hot soak in a tub might help and some analgesic rub and/or some pain medication. Hopefully tomorrow you will feel better. Sleep well, my friend.

@PoetryNEmotion No matter what tomorrow brings, I'll be at work, working, I'm sure....

Been a bit since I've seen you do anything but reply to things.
Pretty sure I saw your soul once....

Getting older is a lot like that, isn't it ?
My mother used to say that "If people waited until they were ready to have children to have children..., There would be no children."
Then she would laugh a laugh I still love to hear.
I just smiled thinking about it.

Thank goodness my lips aren't sore....
😀
@HikingMan We have to work until we cannot or until we do not have to.

I reply to you because we are friends and you matter to me. You have seen my soul more than a few times...I write occasionally and not here.

Yes, you get it. I recall a similar situation, but with no laugh. I am glad to see you smile.

Your lips speak the kindest words. Thank you for being my friend.

@PoetryNEmotion No need to ever thank me for anything.
Especially not my friendship.
It is freely given and well deserved.
Thank you for saving me from myself once upon a time....

You're good peeps.

How many searches for that will there be over the next few days..?

@HikingMan I always thank people who are part of my heart. I would always save you, Rob, no matter how many times, no matter what the cost. I know your worth. Making me smile. Only two people here know my name elsewhere and neither would ever tell anyone. That name is not it. My mystery remains.

@PoetryNEmotion I remain mystified...
I never share.
That trait made me enemies in kindergarten....

I'm not me either.
I'm anonymous.
Ask anyone....
😜
@HikingMan Oh, I forgot you know me. Now I am laughing. I meant on the site where I write. Not that one. You are sweet and funny and deluded.
