Co sleeping with my babies tonight
My heart breaks for the parents who lost their babies today….BABIES.
None of those parents woke up this morning thinking this would be the last day of their child’s life. None of those parents in the stressful hustle and bustle of their morning knew it would be the last time they felt that need to get everything done and get everyone out of the house and on their way.
None of those parents knew what they’d see and hear hours after saying goodbye to their babies. The helplessness that would overcome them in a situation that they had no control over. A life altering, permanent pain.
None of those parents got to pick their babies up after school today or watch them hop off the bus. None of them get to make their babies dinner, get them in the bath, brush their hair, read to them or tuck them into bed tonight while planting kisses on their heads.
Most of those parents will be awake for the next week or so, sleeping on and off for short periods of time only because their bodies are broken from pain.
Most of those parents will be having nightmares and flashes of their children afraid and crying, screaming out for their mommy and daddy. Just wanting to go home.
I cannot even begin to imagine the pain or horror, the trauma. Parents should never have to bury their children. A person should never have to know the level of pain that is a parent losing a child, especially so young and in such a horrific way.
These babies will never grow up, graduate, fall in love, experience what life has to offer them, have babies of their own, find out who they really are in this world.
It was stolen from them and from their parents in a matter of minutes, on an ordinary day and now these parents are left to mourn over the children they loved and also the adults they will never become.
Hold your children extra tight tonight and love on them a little more.
