A simple poem...

The candled flickered between darkness and light, distant memories fading from my sight,
Thoughts within the haze set amongst my pensive gaze,

Nothing was ever quite the same,
A heart left to melt within the flame,

A fragile heart pierced within cold ice,
Chained to the darkest vice,

Unable to reach out and feel again, the warmth of the candle's heat,
Content to hear the remaining sounds of a single throbbing heart- beat,

Love can no longer shine within a house without trust,
The candle dims, the glimmering shine now turns to rust,

Alone in the darkened room, now consumed with gloom,
Dreaming of a weary existence from womb to tomb,

The candle's wax now covering the ashes,
No more bright flashes,

The solitude of silence reflecting thoughts from my mind,
Life can be so very unkind, especially when you waste so much precious time......
