I love spending time with my siblings…
My middle sister and brother are pretty laid back, so things are pretty calm. Time with "the baby", however, usually comes with an adventure or an anecdote we all laugh about later.
For example, there was a memorable trip to Starbucks one afternoon. I found a table and it was agreed I would hold our seats while she ordered and paid for our drinks. She was standing in line when it became clear that an attractive young man in the next line kept glancing at her. He smiled, she smiled, and then it was her turn to order.
She told them, "I’d like an iced Venti Chai and a tall white man—I mean mocha. Tall white mocha."
The baristas giggled and the young man blushed, but continued to smile. My sister opened her purse and was then told the young man had paid for our drinks. She invited him to join us and he helped her carry them. As they got closer, she was in for another surprise:
He said to her, "You have such lovely green eyes !"
She said, "Thank you—omg, are you Australian ? That is so cool !"
So that was how she met Andrew, who was in our lives for several years. A good guy, and from whom we learned to enjoy Vegemite on toast. 😊
