Well making a great country isn't very tangible. If you make more rich people that means more capital and most importantly more rich people to tax.
So making more rich people isn't important but the effects of having more capital and tax revenue is more important than a great country, which doesn't have tangible benefits.

@Maya15 the immensely rich sitting on tons of money with minimal taxation doesn't seem to be trickling down to the great unwashed.

@JonLosAngeles66 ok. but isn't the issue that there are people who don't have enough not that some have too much? why center the wealthy instead of the poor? just make policies to fund stuff and then tax to pay for it.

@Maya15 my original point is making a great country not a rich country. One that has beauty, offers a great life to its people, encourages education, has empathy, etc. How wealth is distributed is just one thing.
