There's a saying in quantum mechanics that there are infinite realities and we're in just one. I used to think that was BS until I studied it. It makes sense. I do believe that there are infinite realities and we live in the one with the most likely lineup of events.
It's that connectivity—that continuity—of skipping from one most likely "frame" of reality to the next most likely "frame" of reality (as opposed to just any reality) that generates consciousness.
Just my opinion.
I think it also has something to do with our brain forming from genes inside organs rather than being made from multiple parts from multiple places and pieced together like a robot.

I think it depends on the definition of the word…
Humans rely on sensory inputs to understand the world..
The information moves across neurons and synapses as electrical pulses..
I can’t begin to say where one begins and the other ends.
There is a neuroscientist that haunts this place from time to time..perhaps she will see this..

@SW-User oh, thanks

Other way around. Consciousness generates the brain.

Not only biological, but also interactions (material and social ones).
Other factors being researched.
That is, not only strictly biological... but not without.
If your question points to find an apriori "force" that makes concious what else is not , it´s the almost the same case of the old vitalism in biology, in search of "Life" (the logos) as a cause and not as an emerging result.
If so, all what I can say is...good luck.

there is a suggestion that it creates a matrix where intelligence can propagate.
Imagine a magnetic feild , THAT is where the conscious is, not the brain tissue itself

@Phantome it is based on recent experimentation + the MANY ways human consciousness, seems to affect things on the quantum level. MANY repeated examples of this suggest the consciousness itself is a quantum Phenomenon, such can be gerneated by an electromagnetic field. and our brains make that
@SatyrService ok

@SatyrService I knew it! I always said consciousness has more to do with quantum physics than neuroscience.

Knowledge is power, sharing that knowledge is a different story

I’m not sure.
But that picture’s beautiful.

@bijouxbroussard just an apt picture for the type of question

@Phantome Yes, and as thought-provoking.
@bijouxbroussard true
