Tonight my bro-worker made me stop what I was doing so he could get a white speck out of my hair…and I thought it was the sweetest thing ever 🥹

I used to think my love language was mainly physical touch given how much brain stops working with one touch from another, or perhaps words of affirmation considering I grew up in a household where very few words of care were ever spoken so when loving words are directed towards me I can feel my inner wounded child healing. But all that changed as I stood as still as I could while this precious human being made it his mission for a good 30 seconds to ensure my hair was the prettiest it could be given the setting. Time full on stopped and every sound inside and out was instantly silenced. I could feel his determination that much. Maybe it was his care coming through that I felt the most though because he could’ve just left it. Either way it’s going to be an act of random and unforeseen kindness that I’ll always go back to when I’ve lost my faith in humanity.

He made it clear that people really do care about the silliest things sometimes. …I’m just glad they care at all.
