Why did they change Persia to Iran?

Just curious. Seems to me Persia was a much nicer name but what do I know. 🤭

I only have two Persian/Iranian friends. Both are just quiet, sweet and kind. I believe both refer to themselves as Persian, but they fly home to Iran.

Of the two names, Persia carries a softer tone imho.
