Nope, and I’m glad I wasn’t as a baby

Isn’t there a different washing ritual in the Synagogue?

@Pfuzylogic sort of, there’s the tvilah, which is similar to baptism, but I’m not sure in which contexts it’s used, it’s not the type of thing where you have to have it as a baby to be a Jew (unlike with Christianity, you’re born fully Jewish). I’m only Jewish on my dad’s side and he’s completely secular, so none of that ritual stuff for me and my brother (I wasn’t even bat mizvah’d). My mom’s a nondenominational Christian but she’s not really into the whole church thing, though I think she was baptized as a teenager.

For a female I recall that being called a bat mizveh instead of a bar mitzveh and in the mikveh you get a full immersion/dunking like the Baptist’s do. It sounds like you missed out on Synagogue services. I have always found the Jewish traditions to be fascinating and I do bet your visit to Israel was very educational!
