New Keys in Hand!
Finally the day I have been long planning for has arrived! I am at my new apartment complex, and have my keys in hand!
But I now have to wait.
I arrived about when I said I would (even though my lease started at midnight). I parked my car near my apartment. I need to unload items: all the fragile stuff I did not want jostled around in a moving truck. I walked to my apartment door just to scope out the approach.
Then I heard music from inside. WTF? I grabbed the doorknob and it opened. There were two people inside, still cleaning the apartment. There were dust piles, wet spots, water running.
I said I was moving in today. But I said no rush, you guys do what you need to do. The moving truck is not coming until tomorrow and I plan to spend tonight in my old apartment. But I do want to empty my car sometime today.
I hope this is not a sign of things to come. At least the apartment will be clean! But now I am glad I scheduled the movers for tomorrow. Sheesh.
They have a nice clubhouse. I am on the poolside-patio in a soft chair. I should ask where they got it and buy one! But it is an outdoor chair. I have no patio at my specific apartment. This is at the clubhouse.
I will give them some time, then go check. I hope the floors will be dry enough to put stuff on them. It is all wood.
It is a lovely day. This pool looks so inviting. But I have not yet signed up for it. I need to fill out a form. I don't have my suit with me, anyway. Although there is a Target nearby. I arrived early so went there to get shower curtain rings, soap, and drinks.
The nearby road is loud, though. I had worried about that but when I toured inside it was quiet. And then a loud military helicopter passed overhead. I am not too far from an Air Force base. Oh well. You can't have everything!
