Was this landlord I had once correct?

The heat stopped working and she told me if pipes freeze or anything happens. That I would be responsible for it. And I let her know immediately as soon as I saw it wasn't working. So since she told me that my dad went and bought a space heater for me. So ridiculous. I hated that mean lady.
