I have the expectation they will clean up after themselves. Contribute to the rent if they can and or help out with the dishes and vacuuming.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Thevy29 that's my expectations too.
Seems me and you and the few that have said similar may be a rarity.

FeelingItAll · 41-45, M
That’s a tough range. I’d be more inclined to set my expectations, based on “in high school”, “in college” or “none of the above”
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@FeelingItAll young adult is classed as someone not in highschool. But in a period of their life where you as a parent no longer have parental responsibilities because they are deemed an adult.
FeelingItAll · 41-45, M
@Mellowgirl With that definition, they’re either attending college or getting their own place.

If they’re attending college, I don’t expect much. Do well and don’t create tasks around the house for me to do when I’m not working to support you while you pursue your degree.
