do you have a fireside at home

in the family home growing up we had a fireside, a coal fire...i remember i found it so relaxing.....all these years later i live on my own in a one bedroom flat and now do not have a fireside...but i wish that i did.

I had coal fires that we used downstairs in the house i grew up in.

All 'wonderful and cozy' AFTER you've raked them out; reset them and you have glowing embers.

What's that ? A good half hours work ?

But I don't miss the ash clearing; crawling inside the concrete coal bunker for the last of the fuel prior to delivery of the next lot at ten o'clock on a snowy winters night. 🥶
