I have lived in a house for 25 years. Love living in a house--the privacy and the yard, with nature and ton of room. It is a lot of work though. I am responsible for the upkeep which can feel daunting at times.
I lived in an apartment for 10 years . I had its up and downs. Everything was modern (for that time) and maintence would come over and fix stuff. I got lucky with rommates but I realize that is sometimes just luck. I still had a lot of privacy and had a GF most of those years Rommates and I shared a ktichen and cooking / food prep in the same way a couple would except it was a roommate. I hated going to the laundrymat and don't miss that part of apartment life.
I lived in a dorm for 2 years in college. It fun when I did it. Really fun for the first year. I don't think I would have made as many college friends and socialized as much if I did not do the dorm thing. I still talk to a couple of them to this day . A lot of my dorm buddies from my freshman year flunked out. I don't think it we were in a dorm so much but that college isn't for everybody. The dorm parties we use to throw were rock-star level.
