Gosh I hate to hear ppl compare theirselves to others especially a family member. Your brother is your brother and you are you. Is your life a competition?
I understand that you want to do well but each person's situation, luck, circumstances are unique.

Rent prices are soaring around here. I dont really need to look but I do just in case I happen to need something. Have to stick hard to my budget.

If you are going be somewhere long term then you should consider house buying instead of renting

Take your time, being in a hurry may be a huge mistake down the road. Do a very thorough walk through make sure to document and take photo's any damage or things that might be blamed on you should ever find the need to break a lease. Keep ALL receipts for rent payments etc. Read your lease very carefully. Good luck.

May i ask what the specific frustration is that your having? I havent been in the market for a place to rent for quite a while. So im a bit oblivious to what its like out there right now.

It’s really hard these days, rent is so high and to find a place in a safe area is important and if you have a pet they can be hard to find that will accept them.

You would not have fitted in that place.It was fine for your smaller sibling,but you need somewhere appropriate to your being the bigger brother.
