There will be no U:K Budget this November

The UK Treasury has issued a statement saying As we heard this week, now is not the time to outline long term plans. People want to see us focused on the here and now. So there will be no budget this autumn.

Good news i guess if you're a drinker or a smoker.
Bad news if you're a Pensioner or on a low wage paying tax.

I didn't know they did it in November. I thought they always did it in March on purpose to annoy me by putting prices up on or just before my birthday.

@Picklebobble2 It always used to be done in March. Who have they decided to annoy by changing it to November? It can't be my grandmother because she passed away in 2012.

@NankerPhelge Well ordinarily it would be early March. Unfortunately we haven't lived in 'ordinary times' for about two years now.

The main budget is compiled after each government department submits it's estimates for their budgetary needs for the coming year.
Sometimes events take a turn....perhaps arable crops were hit harder than expected during the winter months or perhaps more folk retired after the original statement, than the DWP were expecting. So they may request extra funding which would then take place during what's known as The Chancellor's Autumn Statement.

@Picklebobble2 Yes, but whose birthday were they basing it on, and why that specific person?
