What’s your creepiest neighbor like?

[c=#BF0080]I have one who likes to wave to me when I’m inside my home from my patio door and he likes to dance in the street when people drive by sometimes.

Just a little while ago I was texting my mom back at the gas station in the dark and put my phone down to leave and looked up and he was right in the middle in front of the hood of my car just staring at me like a killer in a horror movie would 😂 To make it worse he was wearing a winter hat and coat and the temp is between 80-90 😳 I backed out so fast 😆

Do you have a neighbor like that? 👀 [/c]

He’s single & in his 50’s, he seems to be a hoarder, has let his tree branches grow up into the roof of his house & had to have the roof replaced because of the damage (two years after having new shingles put on), and is letting it happen again. When they took the boards & shingles off the roof you could see stuff crammed into the attic up to the top. He lets trash trees grow wild next to the fence & I’ve had to get on the ladder every spring & summer & lop them off. We had to have the fence replaced & talked to him about contributing since that’s what neighbors do here and he said he didn’t have money. He doesn’t keep his backyard cleaned up either, if his branches fall he throws them in a corner by the fence & they stay there for years. His personality is weird too.

@MellyMel22 Any neighbor that causes me dozens of hours of work in the heat in the late spring, summer & early fall is a stinker in my opinion. He inherited that house after both his parents died, and they were elderly & kept the trees trimmed & the yard kept up nice. So many trees growing right next to the fence now. I guess when the rest of his fence that faces out to the street rots away then there’ll be the wild trees.

@cherokeepatti [c=#BF0080]That really is too bad. Some people just don’t care about much at all. [/c]

@MellyMel22 He’d probably do well to live in a tiny house on a small lot. I think he never parted with the stuff that was in the house when his parents died & brought his stuff with him & crammed it into the garage, no telling how much in the house because the attic is packed to the top of the roof, he has a big shed out back & junk piled up on top of his patio with a tarp over it. That’s where the feral cat sleeps. He told me last year that someone tried to break into the back window of his house & asked if I saw anyone around. While trimming branches I noticed he had at least one fence panel down between his house & another one & told him anyone could sneak in there without opening a gate to make noise. Now when he comes home he goes out & checks all the windows.

@cherokeepatti [c=#BF0080]Instead of fixing the fence panel? I mean that’d at least be a good start to fix it! He sounds like he would be better off w/something smaller, but maybe doesn’t wanna let go of it given it was his parents maybe? [/c]

@MellyMel22 I don’t know what his problem is. He could have a massive garage sale twice a year to clear out some of that stuff, haul the rest to a flea market. Maybe he doesn’t want to spend time doing anything. He’ll mow a couple times a month, that’s usually the only time I see him outdoors. He’d have to part with 90% of his stuff & that takes work but for a hoarder it’s nearly impossible.He’s not married so when he dies no telling what will happen to the house.

@cherokeepatti [c=#BF0080]Sounds like he’s lazy, disabled or just doesn’t care to keep up with much at all. [/c]

@MellyMel22 He’s not the sharpest tack in the box.

@cherokeepatti [c=#BF0080]Makes sense 😂[/c]

@cherokeepatti Wow, he really does sound creepy. I'd carry a noise alarm in case he tries anything threatening.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@greenmountaingal no he doesn’t do things like that, he is very neglectful about his property though.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@cherokeepatti Glad know you are safe. You are more important than any property.

@greenmountaingal if he peeps through my window I’m a poking his eye out!😂
