@saragoodtimes mom made it as a side dish , served alongside the Sunday roast or ham .

@saragoodtimes yum! When I was a kid , growing up on a farm in the red dirt of Texas ... the only Italian cuisine available to us was “ Ragu” ! 😉

@MellyMel22 My mom still jars tomatoes every fall and uses them to make her sauce in the winter.

@saragoodtimes we didn’t know of any other kind ... it was much better than the spaghetti sauce served at the church fellowship dinners ... pink water with a few grains of boiled hamburger meat . When Mac made me spaghetti the first time I thought it was chili . I asked him why he was putting chili on spaghetti . He , while wearing his apron , pushed my chair up to the table , put some Parmesan on my food for me ... and fed me every bite . Gave me sips of wine , and gently wiped my mouth as I ate . He just watched my expression as I enjoyed that wonderful food I had never tasted before ... I was so buzzed from the wine and turned on by his loving attention that he didn’t get to eat ! 😉

@TexChik I made congealed orange juice with shredded carrots and pineapple.
@TexChik now that sounds like a Meal. I might be the only Italian that doesn't like spaghetti though. only pasta I push to the side

@saragoodtimes [i][c=#BF0080]That’s the best way to do it. The only other way I like it is with red pack or tuttorossi unseasoned, crushed and purée tomatoes. It has to be made a certain way though. [/c][/i]

@saragoodtimes he made it himself , none of that dry stuff . My head was spinning from all the wonderful things he introduced me to that night 😁
@MellyMel22 red pack and Tutteroso are the only canned I use to make my sauce
