Is it wrong to keep your pet bird in cages?

I had a pet cockatiel which I used to keep in cages only when I was out for work or at night. He died in a freak accident just because I was not too careful when he was out of the cage. But then, I feel it was wrong to keep a bird in a cage all the time if I get another one?

I suggest you to not get a bird let because you have to keep them in cages. Unfortunately my neighbour got a parrot but they got it's wings chopped off so it can't fly. Which makes me angry. Birds are for atmosphere where they can fly in open sky. 😊
