I'm always grateful for the things that I have been given in life, but also the people in my life that are there for me when I have been down and out. To have a place to sleep at night that is out of the cold or just a place to sit for awhile without bring judged is important. When many of us look at this we may see a storage shack that has seen better says, but to a homeless person this is a palace, a place to get a free start, or maybe a catalyst to a brighter tomorrow.
I'm glad you stated that you had the man's permission to post. I would be tempted to go back to visit him and maybe go to Goodwill or other places to get him a few items he might need and maybe take him bottled water or whatever. A little hoes a long way sometimes to help the homeless.
