@Babybear78 I grew up in a very cold Canadian city. Everyones house did that a lot because cold makes things contract and different things contract at different rates making different sounds. Some could be fairly loud.

@Babybear78 If it stops it probably was the cold- everything eventually contracts as much as it can. Water pipes can make loud banging sounds too.
