I was thinking of playing a loud barking dog ona constant loop inside my unoccupied house to deter break-ins. What about it?

I made a CD of a big dog barking for an old boombox that I can just let run constantly for a few months at a time.

A good idea, however, in some jurisdictions a dog constantly barking can be a violation. Maybe consider a trigger (motion, etc.) Or a timer so its more realistic?

@PHlover19701 I already leaving the radio on all the time - it is just loud enough to be heard on the front porch.. My neighbors don't hear it. I think I will do the same with the dog CD.

@PHlover19701 Which is more realistic? A dog barking all the time or a radio on all the time?
I have these little LED lights inside that randomly flash different colors and change to mimic a television. I shine them on my bedroom window at night as they work on timers and automatically come when it gets dark.

@AmericanAvenger Im my opinion anything all the time can become white noise and ignored. But, if it works for you then thats all that counts.

@PHlover19701 Good point - I figured anyone brazen enough to be on my property long enough or frequently enough to figure out it is constant is going to do something anyway. My little deterrents just slow them down and possibly spook them enough to leave. Thanks

@AmericanAvenger Eventually, they may figure out its staged if they come back a few times.

@PHlover19701 Right - there is nothing that can be done about that unless I build electrified fence around the whole yard. I can just hope they wont want to risk coming back multiple times. I think I am going to mix dog barking on some tracks and have some music or talk radio on other tracks to change it up on a 80 minute CD-R.
