When I used to visit family members in the southern U.S. whether it was my grandparents and relatives in Louisiana or aunts and uncles in Atlanta, GA, they all had really high beds, that seemed three mattresses high (see pic).
Was that just my family, or was it a feature of southern homes ?

@Ontheroad I've always loved high beds for some reason . I remember sleeping in one at a friend's place when I was little, in a cute cottage in the country, sometime before the age of five .
I don't know why it left such an impression on me ...thru just seem fancy and distinguished 😂
