I Like To Look At Homes On Zillow & Found A Real Jewel…

Why are most kitchens so boring….This one is beautiful. Most of the house is paneled and has pops of turquoise or blue on the walls. It is nearby a lake too.

@Stereoguy Did I say I was moving? I just like to look at the houses. Facebook always posts houses on Facebook Marketplace and I look on Zillow because they always have more photos. If I won a lottery that might make a big difference.

@Stereoguy wouldn’t matter, I haven’t won the lottery.

@Stereoguy I want something where I could be off-grid even if I had the money. Solar panels on the roof and wood-stoves for the winter to heat and cook with. Outdoor cooking with a nice stainless steel rocket stove. Hand-pump water well for water. And away from a metro area, an area with locally-grown food available to buy. Amish country would suit me just fine. That 2nd photo is in a an area with Amish and Amish stores & other businesses.

@Stereoguy I posted 2 photos of another kitchen that is in Amish country, I think Amish are selling it.

@Stereoguy water wells with hand pumps are pretty easy to do. Could get the pumps easily in that area. Some people build a home with a small hand-pump at the kitchen sink. I’ve seen some videos of Amish homes with regular toilets flushing into septic tanks, they have to pour a bucket of water into the tank to do it though. Better than having to go outside to an outhouse all the time.

@Stereoguy could probably rig up a gravity tank you fill with hot water to take a shower. Also could use propane to have a propane on-demand tank and solar electric to pump it. But would love a hand-pump well to keep from using so much energy. My grandpa had a hand-pump on a concrete pad, his well never went dry. He also had a bath house built close to that and would take baths in there in warmer weather.

@Stereoguy better than not having a shower at all though. The electric companies may end up rationing electricity due to energy shortages. And there are power outages after storms becoming more frequent. My friend was without power for 8 days one time after a storm and several other times besides that time.

@Stereoguy so basically you had electricity during the outage because you left. What if you live in a rural area and have chickens and some livestock. Can’t just pull up and leave like that.
