We bought one about a year ago. I doubt that we would go back to the old style. There are a bit expensive so don't buy one if your old machines still work but it is so nice to toss a load into the machine before bedtime and wake up with clean dry clothes in the morning. I do think the clothes come out a bit cleaner as well but they are not quite as dry. Certainly dry enough to wear or put away but not as scorched dry as the older dryer we have. That and the fact there is no worry about the vent becoming plugged. All the lint is in the filter.
