I thought it would be fun to see what everyone does for a living.

I'm a retired legal secretary (34 years), former Bankruptcy Petition Preparer and Notary Public Agent. How 'bout you?

What's the notary deal...I have no idea but my father called one out to our place to stamp something.
@FloorGenAdm A notary public acts as an impartial witness to deter fraud by verifying the identity of people signing important documents and confirming their willingness to sign. Their duties includewitnessing signatures, verifying identification, administering oaths, and authenticating the contents of a document, to ensure it is signed willingly and without duress. The notary then affixes their signature and official seal to the document. People also go there to get title and license for their cars, trucks, motorcycle or boats, get a documentation to move farm machinery from one place to another, things like that...working for the Secretary of State.
