Veterans Day

I'd like to thank all those Americans who helped liberate Europe from the horrors of fascism. Without you good people Europe would be a Nazi concentration camp, or a Stalinist Gulag. I will never forget, and I put a flower at the "Unknown Soldier's" monument every year.
Thank you guys – I kiss you. 💋

I was treated very well in London 1984 while I was wearing my active duty Crackerjacks.
I never will forget it.

I was in a pub right across the street from Harrods 2 weeks after the IRA bombing in January 1984.
You could not tell the building had been touched!
The man was possibly twice my age and his smile and pleasant attitude made the ale that much better!

I am glad you shared that!
I was 24 at the time and on a 10 day bus tour of Europe which started in London!

A very cool Dad indeed!
It was late but I had to see the city before I left to Brussels by way of the Barge across the English Channel.
Now that was a ride!

You have an incredible Father!
I was deployed at Rota Spain to support the Marines in Lebanon.
We sent a small detail there for construction. I didn’t go but normally supported the SeaBees with communication for their construction projects and warfare if needed. My flight to London and back was more expensive than my bus tour.
The dollar was very strong at the time. I spent $400 on my 2 way flight and $350 on my bus tour which included meals and lodging and travel for 10 days in London, Brussels, New Amsterdam, Cologne, Rhine River, Champaign and Paris France. I look back in amazement because i’m sure I couldn’t afford it now.

@SandWitch It sounds like you have had your own adventures during your competitions. That is what dads are for, teach you how to get by in the unknown!

There is nothing like a Dad that is 💯. When I was active duty Navy we stayed at the Harley which is a lavish Helmsley owned hotel. “Uncle Sugar” or the Military paid for everything but i couldn’t rely on them to cover anything this I charged to the room!
Again your Dad is very rare!

It sounds like you three were totally enjoying yourself and Dad was there for you! It is good your Mom gave her sage advice to him before anyone was effected by his previous constraining behavior! I’m sure you have many supporting stories of the good times that you three had and how your parents survived’

I’m sure he trusted your Mom with everything!
I hope you cut him a little slack as you took him through the paces of his girls indulging in whatever they wanted!

@SandWitch Oh you poor thing!
No wonder he jumped in to your rescue. Far be it that his daughter would compete in an outfit so tattered and in need of a firm support of her narrow hips and skinny tanned belly. I do bet the silk felt rather luxuriant and stimulating!

@SandWitch
So you reciprocated his generosity, how kind!
Maybe a runway walk to demonstrate the difference that silk has over your previous tattered version.
I am certain you looked incredible.

Silk is inherently a wise investment but fashion changes every year. A silk one piece for one year is not the same as a needed silk thong for the next year!
