Today is Veteran's Day in the U.S. [I Happy Veterans Day]

My father was a World War II vet, and this day meant a lot to him.

He died last year, and today I feel his absence.

Condolences on your loss and great appreciation for his service. My father served in the Korean conflict. His older brother and my mother’s eldest brothers served in WWII. One of her younger brothers is a Vietnam vet.

@DrWatson I found out recently that both my grandfathers served in WWI. My brother confided to me once that he felt guilty for not having served in the military, but Pop told him he served his country by being a policeman.
