I haven’t been on my phone a lot today to hear the news, but my son called me to tell me about Patrick Stewart’s passing.

He knew him from the X-Men. I knew him from Star Trek: The Next Generation and beyond.

Even though we didn’t know him, you could just tell he was an awesome dude with such a kind heart that carried within it a lightheartedness that drew you into him even more.

I was looking for a gif of him waving bye to us, which I know is sad but felt fitting as so many of us say goodbye to another part of our childhood. But instead was drawn to this one instead for reasons I don’t really know, other than I’d rather remember the laughter he left behind instead of the sadness that’ll be felt as we lose yet another childhood staple.

Behold. Sir Patrick Stewart. And his battle pug.

I heard about it from my husband. “Aw. Your favorite sexy bald guy died.” I crushed on that man for 30 years. He’s the reason there’s always Earl Grey, hot, at my house. lol He’ll never really be gone. 💕
