You Can Go Home Again ..
Its been kind of a surreal few days. A visit to see my mom for nearly 4 decades has meant staying in the house I grew up in, literally sleeping in my old bedroom. This is likely the last time that will be the case.
My next visit will be to help move her into a new place. Its had me reliving some memories, looking at how my life turned out so far vs what I expected all those years ago, etc.
Few years have held so many life altering events for me as 2025. I'm on the cusp of three of the more stressful life events a person can go through all happening within a few months of each other. It seems odd how down right calm I feel about the situation. Don't get me wrong, I want this all to be over and as soon as possible. Yet, even with so many things waiting to be sorted out, I feel more confident I'm on the right path than I have in years.
In the Chinese New year, 2026 is the year of the Horse. "The year of the Horse In Chinese astrology symbolizes freedom, energy, movement, and adventure, encouraging bold action, independence, and forward momentum, often bringing luck, breakthroughs, and romance, with the upcoming 2026 being the Year of the Fire Horse, intensifying these traits with passion and determination."
I can't think of a better suited year for how I'm feeling in the first few moments of this New Year. Looks like it's time to saddle up.
