In my village pub, with the horny handed sons of toil, their long suffering wives, the sleek retired Foreign Office (State Dept to our American friends) types, Sir George Cloak and Sir Christopher Dagger. I expect Lady Cloak and Lady Dagger will put in an appearance. Our vicar, missing for most of the year, may show up and bless something. Dr Hyde (truly) will be on hand to revive the wilters.
The youth of the village - those under 50 - may have the good sense to stay at home and watch Jools Holland.
I may shame myself and, in a break with tradition, bring a youth of my own.
