Time to wish all my American friends a Happy New Year.

I found this depressive outline of whats coming for America.. The good news is, that I dont believe it will get this bad. However, every single part of the scenario is quite possible and some parts are almost inevitable. So cheer up and party like its 2026..😷

They have been talking about the collapse of the dollar, empty store shelves, famine, pestilence, banks closing, mark of the beast, fire falling from the sky, the grid shutting down, trade problems, the Rapture, WW3, the planet flipping it's axis, etc for decades.

Or my favorite one - "The world has no clue what is coming."

Yeah it has been coming for over 100 years.

Of course they have all this compelling evidence of "what is about to happen" and nothing really does.

The part about "Sue sun rising from the West" cause the world turned upside down - THAT one has all the charm of a small child saying, "I wish the whole world would blow up!" I used to say that when I was five.

@HoeBag Sure. There are prophets prophesying all over. But this isnt prophecy. This is economics. The kind of result spoken of here has happened before. From the Irish potato famine to the collapse of germany, post WW1 and recently the economies of Zimabwe, Argentina and Greece. All different in causes. And with varying outcomes.. But catastrophic for the poor in each case..And America has a lot of poor and a lot of guns. Its not going to end well😷

@whowasthatmaskedman America had gotten by for almost 250 years now, I imagine we will be fine.
Catastrophes come and go.

@HoeBag Yep. I am sure the british felt the same way. And the French.. The Spanish.. and how about them Romans?😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Well my point is we shouldn't sit around worrying about what we have no control over.

I remember in about 1991, the churches were pushing the Rapture quite hard.

I asked my dad, "If Jesus is coming back, the world is going to end, and we are all going to h3ll, why are people living normal lives as if nothing is going to happen?"

His response - "Oh they have been saying that for 2,000 years."

@HoeBag On this we agree. I refer you to my original closing that we should party like its 2026. But I am not comfortable with the comparison of prophecies of the biblical rapture, based on faith, with probabilities of an economic crash, based on verifiable numbers and previous factual history..Everything worked well with the US economy when it was backed by gold. Now it isnt, the Emperor has no clothes..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Well, things go back and forth, it is planned. Expansions, peak, recession, and sometimes depression - it is all planned, it doesn't happen by accident.

Religion wants you to worry. Without fear, it ceases to exist. Political parties are no different. It’s the same with the algorithms running your Facebook and news feeds, e.g.

All that worrying is such a waste of actual life and happiness. I just don’t get it.

@HoeBag You are partly right. It doesnt happen by accident. It happens because people cant keep their fingers off the economic scales, either through greed, or to "correct" something that isnt going there way.. Like printing money. or cutting taxes..😷
