The year is almost up! Which memory stands out the most for you? [I Wish Everyone a Happy New Year]
For me it was the first days of lockdown, seeing the empty streets around here, looking through the window and seeing a ghost city. Pretty shocking!

It feels like a skipped year. Like everything came to a standstill as I stood at the doorway holding my hat and coat for a while, then put them back in the closet and rescheduled everything to 2021, or until further notice.
But also like we retreated into our own space, and into my own head with just the telephone and internet as portals to the world beyond the doorway. And I found comfort and peace here. Like I'm no longer anxious about grabbing my coat and hat and rush off to anywhere. My own little island is fine and there's really no hurry to rush off to anywhere else.
