My personal Christmas tradition for about a dozen years now

Every Spring I buy a potted evergreen. It stands in the yard all Spring, Summer and Fall.

At Christmastime I bring it inside, put it on a table and decorate it as my Christmas tree.

After Christmas I put it back outside. When Spring comes again I take it out into the fields and plant it.
Then buy a new one.

With a little luck and if I live enough years my legacy will be a small pine woods. 🌲

Do the ones you plant in the fields continue thriving? I always buy a poinsettia as I love the colour and it brighten my home. The story goes that a young girl wanted to leave a gift for the baby Jesus at a Christmas Eve service at church. But she could not afford to buy a gift, so left a bundle of weeds instead. The weeds flowered into the famous red leaves of a poinsettia plant, becoming synonymous with the colourful festive season. I think there is a beautiful story behind most things in life.
@Havie I love these stories behind traditions, thank you for sharing that.

So far, last I walked out there, all the trees seem to be growing and doing their own thing, as it should be.
