Cold rainy/snowy in Kansas City

I used to live in the area, Daviess County rural Pattonsburg area. The biggest snow that I remember happened on Christmas Eve when school was still in session. We lived on a farm and the buses didn’t run. A family friend that lived in town waded the snow to go get her from the school and take her to their house. Then he waded more snow to get her some gifts so she would have something to open on Christmas morning. I think it was 1961. The snow was so deep that the snowplow got stuck near our road so we couldn’t get out to go anywhere till after New Year’s. A family friend who lived over a mile away came to our house on Christmas Day with his horse and sleigh and took us around the pasture for a sleigh ride. I think he went to visit several friends and did that during the day.
