I'm honestly fine with sitting next to a warm fire with good company, it's the little things.

Basically there's a huge number of people who aren't really canceling Christmas but they're bringing back things like doing things as a family and encouraging people to buy locally while not giving major retailers. People say they are tired of it and not going to do it this year. Also having a conversation with your kids as to what freedom really means and what consumerism means.

Since I've given up all the materialism of Christmas and just focused on relaxing, eating, drinking and being merry with loved ones, my Christmases have been the best.

I think that with the current uncertainty it is unsurprising that many people want to go back to basics and have simple family Christmases.
