Christmas Gifts And Things.

Being the person that I am - pretty self-contained, bit of a loner - I've never really been one for presents and great big whopping shows of affection. I can afford what I can afford and I prefer things that come from the heart.

Likewise my guy.

So, we just buy little things for each other. Things with thought behind them. For example, he might rummage through my makeup and find I am running low on something or other, he might get me a book I might like or talked about the author in passing, concert tickets, framed pictures of us..that kind of thing.

That's why I love him.

It's our 4th Xmas living together and it's been fun....hectic, at times, with a lot of guests on Xmas day....and it's had it's very relaxing times too.

I understand what you are saying. I think the best gifts are the ones that demonstrate that the giver of the gift understands the receiver of the gift. And that has nothing at all to do with how expensive the gift is.

One of my favorite gifts from my wife was a very cheap plastic children's toy, on which she wrote something that made it an "in joke" about a particular experience that had frustrated me a few months earlier. It told me that she "got" me.

@DrWatson Indeed. That means more, from either lover, friends or family.
