Happy Holidays!

Are u annoyed as I am if someone says that? NO, it is Merry Christmas!! Right??
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I am not annoyed at all. I don't expect my Jewish friends to say "Merry Christmas", for example. I also know one family that does celebrate the solstice. They are atheists, and I am not going to wish them a Merry Christmas. Both Hannukah and the solstice festival pre-date Christmas.

And even among Christians, there are holidays this time of year which have different emphasis in different cultures: children have traditionally received gifts on St. Nicholas Day as well as the Day of the Three Kings (Epiphany.) And I also think of New Year's Day as among the "holidays."

Having said all that, Merry Christmas to you. 🙂
it certainly is "merry christmas" ironically it is only the christians who think we shouldn't say that...jews, muslims and other people of different religions shake their heads at us who celebrate it...but to be fair it is also hanukkah, which actually starts christmas this year

Not in the tiniest. It is CHRISTmas time
Pretzel · 61-69, M
not to Jews or those of us that don't celebrate the holiday

I prefer Happy Festivus anyway

It’s not Holiday Day. It’s Christmas Day.

The same sensibility would hold true for Hanukkah.

Call it what it is.
Merry Christmas is one day, happy holiday includes the whole season

Not annoyed. I respect their own faith or absence of it…I think they are still good people if they are wishing you well by saying that.
Wiseacre · F
@LunarOrbit I guess u missed point.
