How much would you say is an appropriate amount to spend on Christmas

Please don't answer for anyone else than the honest truth.

I feel like every year I go completely broke buying my kids Christmas and then my parents act like I don't do enough and then my son's family is telling me I over did it and they never got that many gifts on Christmas

We've never put a minimum or maximum on the gifts.

My wife always worried about "did we get enough?" And I'd always reply that he doesn't care. Get one gift that is "special" and meaningful. Even if you miss... it's a gift where they feel that you put some care into it. Everything else is superfluous.
