How much would you say is an appropriate amount to spend on Christmas

Please don't answer for anyone else than the honest truth.

I feel like every year I go completely broke buying my kids Christmas and then my parents act like I don't do enough and then my son's family is telling me I over did it and they never got that many gifts on Christmas

I used to do the same thing. I've cut way back since retiring. I don't need or want anything. So I spend on the grandkids and a gift or two on my kids and daughter.

I would not take pressure from anyone on what you spend. None of their business. You know your budget. It's the thought. Not the money spent.
