@Northwest Ukraine has switched over to the "western" calendar this year though, and Ukrainian churches here (Canada) are following suit, because of the conflict with Russia.

Yes, this is a political move. My Ukrainian friends are still going to celebrate the "traditional" Christmas, but they're also observing the "new" Christmas.

Yes!! Also our favorite Christmas song. The song our kids learned shortly after learning their ABCs.

We traditionally didn't kick start the season until after Dec 20th. A few times not buying or putting up a tree until Christmas eve. Once we got a free tree from a tree seller anxious to clear his lot.

@Heartlander That makes more sense to me than putting the tree up early in December and then throwing it out on Boxing Day as some people do!!

Absolutely, mad rush before Christmas including Christmas Eve, spent 3 days hungover and not feeling well. Today I’m sitting at home all day surrounded by all the gifts and Christmas decorations/lights feeling very tired. On Friday I’ll think about New Year and New Year’s Day I’ll think about 2024.
